The assessment begins at a moderate intensity and builds gradually until sustainable race intensity is clearly defined. Throughout, our state-of-the-art mixing-chamber technology analyzes every breath to track oxygen use, fuel shift, and energy output at each stage.

PRE-TEST:

  • Complete and submit your PARQ 48 hours before your scheduled appointment

  • Consume a normal mixed diet in the 24 hours prior to testing

  • Consume 1 g/kg of carbohydrate 2–3 hours before testing (low fat, low fiber)

  • Avoid additional caloric intake in the final 60 minutes before testing

  • Match planned race-day caffeine intake if applicable (timing and dose)

  • Alcohol and tobacco must be avoided 24 hours prior to testing

  • Ensure you are well hydrated

  • Refrain from intense exercise 24 hours prior to testing

  • Continue prescription medication as usual

  • Dress appropriately in comfortable running attire

  • ANT+ or BLE heart rate monitors can be supplied; you may bring your own
